The Beginning
My first mistake was asking a question about the meet-up location, and I got punished. I had to do five burpees on the spot then meet up.
Our team was either Rip Saw, Grip Saw, Rizz Saw (The whole team couldn’t remember our name )
The other team was called Apple Sauce.
The Challenges
Ditch Race
Both teams had to lay on their back with their rucksack and crawl or push with all their gear. Whoever made it to the fence and got in formation wins.
Laying down in the ditch was easy enough. However, I was struggling with dragging that yoke forward.
Once I reach the fence, I move to the side. My left biceps was hurting. I got a mean friction burn, and I decided to duct tape my left bicep, but the rucksack had already left its mark on me.
This injury affected me throughout the event.
The Wall
After the ditch race, we got into formation, and the Krypteia made us pick a wall for our team. We decided to get the wall with the muddy ground.
We had to get all of the gear over the wall and get into formation in this challenge. We were passing our equipment way too slow and failed. As punishment, we had to do 10 Hydro Burpees.
Then the Krypteia decided to make us switch walls and redo the race. This time we change our strategy; we chuck our rucksack over the wall and pass over the yokes. We won this time.
Water Is Life Bucket Challenge
The Krypteia told two members from both teams to take their yokes and fill one bucket with water. So each team had one bucket filled with water and one empty bucket.
We had to place duct tape a quarter up the empty bucket. We had to set the empty bucket a couple of feet away.
We used our hands to carry water to the empty bucket and fill it up to the tape section in this challenge. People started to get very creative in this section. People duct-taped their hands together, and rubber gloves carried the water.
We won both times, and Apple Sauce lost 4 gallons of water from their team.
As punishment, team Apple Sauce had to carry a large wall with all their gear over the dirt hill. We decided to help the team by taking their yokes over the hill.
Mud Crawls
Both teams had to crawl across the mud pit with all their gear. I was pretty slow while crawling and ended up very last in my team.
Our team lost the crawling race, and the Krypteia made both teams crawl backward. I performed better at this part, and our team finished first. We won this part.
Overhead Yoke Lunges and Shoulder Press
Damn, did I hate this part throughout the event. Keeping that yoke over my head hurt like a mother fucker. My bag’s left strap kept on rubbing on that friction burn.
Atlas Stone Bear Crawls
We all had to push an atlas stone between two poles during the bear crawl. Men moved the black atlas stone, and women pushed the red one.
After that, we got into our team formation, and each team was lined up side by side. Then the Kryoteia told us to turn and face the person beside us because that’s our new partner throughout the event.
Rucksack Run
This one was easy for me. We had 2 minutes to run to the multi-rig and back to our position in this portion. We all finish within 1:12. Then, Krypteia wanted us to beat this time. So we all ran again and finished within 1:06.
Ending
As we were approaching the end of the event, my partner and I carried our yokes in front of us. We were crossing over mud and going around construction equipment.
After that, we stopped in front of the truck container, and it was about to end right there. However, Applesauce got a penalty during the Water is Life Challenge.
We all got punished and did 20 lungs to overhead yokes. The Overhead yokes wore out my shoulders during that; I was in pain. Once we finished, it felt amazing.
Final Thoughts
I would recommend this for anyone who loves to challenge themselves mentally and psychically. Next time, I will bring long sleeves, medium size duct tape, and vaseline.
